JKN Mike teaches at Lowestoft Kuk Sool Won.
Biography
JKN Mike began his Kuk Sool Won journey when he was 17 and soon became immerced into the practise of martial arts, as a way of life, rather than a hobby. Since then JKN Mike has progressed through the ranks to become a first-degree black belt, and is currently testing for second-degree. Initialy JKN began his teaching by assisting instructors with the children’s class when he was only red belt, and has since gone on to become a full time instructor primarily for children, as well as adults. This also led him to train, organise and lead the junior black belt demo team. As well as his martial arts dedication JKN Mike runs a successful painting and decorating business, but believes his martial arts practise to be paramount in his life.
Achievements
- Participated in a number of national and European competitions and has collated numerous medals
- Member of the UK and EuropeanDemonstration Team
- Was one of the first under black-belt practisioners to perform a segment in the tournament exhibition
- JKN’s consistent practise and dedication earned him the title of ‘Student of the year’ 2004.
Mentoring Instructors
Ever since JKN began his training he has always been inspired by the dedication and talent of KJN Martin & KJN Alison who have over the years helped him with more than just his martial arts training. JKN puts his success as an instructor down to the mentoring of KJN Martin & Alison and believes they have never failed to guide him in all aspects of his life. After years of instruction under SBN Robert Poll, JKN soon began to idolise the attitude and ability of his instructor and has always been a role model in JKN Mikes Kuk Sool career. JKN has always followed SBN Rob’s style of training and teaching as well as his philosophies on the martial arts
